Youth With A Mission JUNE 2001 UPDATE
Aloha!
Our Spring 2001 school is complete and the teams have left Maui on their Outreach. The four teams that we're sending out will be going to Bali, Indonesia, and North and South China.
- BALI
This team (SFMI - Surfers For Missions International) will be going to Bali in Indonesia where they will be visiting prisons, cleaning and praying for people in hospitals, and spending time with children in orphanages. They will
also be helping with a surf contest.
- INDONESIA
The Indonesia team will spend time in Bali, and then do Bible studies in Lambak Siinbawa for 6 weeks. Then they will go to Sri Lanka for ten days,
and the Maldives for 30 days, to do Friendship Evangelism. The team's prayer and goal is that God would be glorified in all that they do and taht people
will come to know Him.
- NORTH CHINA
The North China team will be teaching English and working in an orphanage. The are praying for an opportunity to go into Mongolia. A friend of mine who I took to the Philippines on an outreach in 1997, is now living in China
and has been asked by the government to put together a summer English speaking school/camp. There will be around 250 Chinese students between the ages
of 17 and 25 in the school, and the team will spend 3 to 6 weeks at the school, day and night. This is a great opportunity as the teachers are free
to teach whatever they want.
- SOUTH CHINA
This team will be going to Guangzhin in South China, and then to Nanking, where they will be working in an Arts college. After mainland
China they will be on their way to Tibet.
These are just a few of the things they will be involved in.
In his grip,
Joel
